A Letter from EB Medicine’s New Editor-In-Chief

Dear Emergency Medicine Practice Readers,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new Editor-in-Chief of Emergency Medicine Practice. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me to help guide a publication that so many of us rely on for clinically grounded, evidence-based and practice-changing knowledge.

I have been fortunate to be part of the editorial team at Emergency Medicine Practice for ten years and a longtime reader of the publications before that. Like many of you, I have long viewed Emergency Medicine Practice as a dependable source of clear, relevant and accurate information to use at the bedside. My vision is to build on the outstanding framework that already exists and continue to evolve the publication in line with our expanding specialty.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Andy Jagoda not only for his years of extraordinary leadership and service to the publication, but also as a personal mentor. I am forever indebted to his guidance over the course of my career. Dr. Jagoda’s commitment to rigor, clarity, and clinical relevance has shaped the identity of this publication and elevated the quality of emergency medicine scholarship. Though his leadership of this publication, he has impacted thousands of clinicians and innumerable patients around the world. I am humbled to follow in his footsteps and appreciative of the strong foundation he leaves.

In the months ahead, you will see us continue to focus on practical content you can use immediately in your practice. This publication is for you as our readers, and I welcome your feedback, ideas, and collaboration as we move into this next chapter.

Thank you for your ongoing engagement and for the work you do every day for patients and communities. I look forward to serving you in this role.

Respectfully,

Dan Egan, MD, MBA
